These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of MapleBooks. By creating an account or using MapleBooks, you agree to these terms.
For these terms, "MapleBooks", "we", "us", and "our" refer to LimeKing Development. "You" means the person or business using MapleBooks.
Service Description
MapleBooks is an invoicing, receipt OCR, expense tracking, basic books visibility, and export tool for small Canadian businesses. It helps users create invoices, scan or upload receipts, review OCR results, track expenses, view basic books records, and generate user-directed exports.
Some modules may be early, limited, beta, preparation-only, or unavailable depending on your account, app version, or release channel.
Eligibility and Accounts
You must be able to form a binding contract to use MapleBooks. You are responsible for providing accurate account and company information, keeping your login credentials secure, maintaining appropriate company access permissions, and all activity under your account unless caused by MapleBooks' own systems.
You must notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
Your Data and Business Records
You own the business records you enter into MapleBooks. You grant MapleBooks permission to process that information as needed to provide, secure, maintain, and improve the service.
You are responsible for reviewing your records, retaining copies, exporting important information, and ensuring your records satisfy your business, tax, employment, or legal obligations.
OCR and Automation
Receipt OCR and other automated features are provided to help reduce manual entry. They may be incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate.
You are responsible for reviewing OCR results, invoice totals, expense categories, tax amounts, books records, exports, and reports before relying on them.
No Professional Advice
MapleBooks is not a law firm, accounting firm, payroll provider, tax preparer, or government service.
MapleBooks does not provide legal, tax, payroll, accounting, or financial advice. Information, calculations, exports, and reports generated by MapleBooks are provided for your review and convenience.
You remain responsible for compliance with all applicable laws, deadlines, filings, remittances, recordkeeping requirements, and professional review.
Acceptable Use
You must not use MapleBooks for unlawful, fraudulent, harmful, or abusive activity; attempt to access another user's account, company, or data; interfere with or disrupt the service; upload malware or harmful files; or use MapleBooks to store information you are not authorized to process.
We may suspend or restrict access if we reasonably believe these terms are violated or if necessary to protect users, MapleBooks, or service providers.
Support and Account Deletion
Support is provided through support@getmaplebooks.com.
To request account deletion, email support@getmaplebooks.com with the subject line "Account deletion request". We may need to verify your identity and company authority before deleting account or company data. See our Account Deletion page.
Billing and Paid Plans
If paid plans are enabled in the future, subscription details, pricing, renewal terms, cancellation options, and taxes will be presented before purchase or upgrade.
Unless otherwise stated, subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel future renewals through the billing flow provided in the app or by contacting support if self-service billing is unavailable.
Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated in the applicable plan terms.
If paid plans are not enabled for your release, billing terms do not apply until MapleBooks makes paid access available.
Beta and TestFlight Releases
If you use MapleBooks through TestFlight, beta, early access, or a guided tester program, you understand that the app may contain defects, features may change, data may need correction or export, MapleBooks may request feedback or diagnostic details, and the service is not ready to replace professional bookkeeping, tax, payroll, accounting, or legal advice.
Availability and Changes
We aim to provide a reliable service, but MapleBooks may be unavailable due to maintenance, outages, provider issues, network failures, or changes to the product.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features. We will try to provide reasonable notice for material changes where practical.
Third-Party Services
MapleBooks may rely on third-party providers for hosting, authentication, OCR, billing, email, and other operations. Your use of external destinations, such as email apps, Files, payment processors, or other services, may be governed by those providers' own terms and privacy policies.
Intellectual Property
MapleBooks, including its software, design, trademarks, logos, documentation, and content, is owned by LimeKing Development or its licensors.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from MapleBooks except as permitted by law or with written permission.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MapleBooks and LimeKing Development will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, tax penalties, interest, assessments, business interruption, or substitute services.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MapleBooks' total liability for claims related to the service will be limited to the greater of the amount you paid to MapleBooks in the three months before the claim or CAD $100.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Disclaimer of Warranties
MapleBooks is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and error-free operation.
Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless MapleBooks and LimeKing Development from claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your use of MapleBooks, your business records, your violation of these terms, or your violation of law or third-party rights.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario, unless consumer protection law requires otherwise.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide notice where required. Continued use of MapleBooks after updated terms take effect means you accept the updated terms.
